The Sea Inside Post 3

The camera angle the i though really was very good was the part when it shows Ramon dreaming that he could get up and walk. This shows his longingness to walk and his love for Julia. It is shot is such a way that i think Ramon feels like what i would feel like if i drept about flying. The camera follows him to the beach and then up to a close up of him and Julia and then they kiss it is a very powerful part of the movie.

The Sea Inside vs Diving Bell

These two stories are very similar. They both have the main charecter in both suffered from locked in syndrome. They are both really depresing and sad. I think that Bauby is a little more under control in the way that he just accepts the way he is and does not think about killing himself all the time. Both of them are loved by everyone around them even when they cant move. Bauby i feel is a stronger person because when he got reminded of what he looked like he started to laugh but when the guy in the sea inside got reminded of himself he through a fit.

The Sea Inside post 1

My general reaction to the sea inside was that this is a very strong film. The actors in this film are so good i almost though i was watching a documentary. The main charecter is a quadrapalegic and has been for some time. he is very unhappy with his life and wishes to die. This is very sad to me because there is nothing he can do about his life fro good or for worse. A man that is so dependent on others he cant even roll on his side without the help of others around him. this movie is a little depressing because at the end he finnally gets someone to help him kill himself ever when no body in his family wants him to.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly reflection

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly was a very inspireing book. Bauby had to have been a very strong man to have the strengh to blink this whole book and blink it so well. His ablity to make every thing so vivid and interesting is quite an amazing feat for a paralyzed victim to have accomplished.

The fourth Tuesday came and they talked about death. Morrie feel that death should not be feared but should be used to teach others. They talked about family on the fifth Tuesday. this is when Mitch tells Morrie about the girl he is seeing and how is not ready to comit to her but she wants to get married.

Outside Reading Memoir chaper 1-8

Tuesdays With Morrie starts with a reflection by Mitch Albon the author of the book about his old college pofesser Morrie. We find out that Morrie has a illness called ALS and is near death. Mitch refers to him visting Morrie by saying that it was his final class and that the subject of the class is the meaning of life. Mitch is a very busy sports writer and has little time for his own life let alone seeing Morrie but when he finds out that Morrie is sick he takes the time to call him. When he does this, Morrie tells him to come see him so Mitch has to find some time and they agree that Tuesdays he can come. That Tuesday Mitch went to see Morrie and they " talked about the world" .

This I blieve

The title of the essay is Dancing All the Dances as Long as I Can.The authors name is Robert Fulghum. One sentence of what the belief is "I believe in dancing."Examples from the story that showed his belief are "I believe it is in my nature to dance by virtue of the beat of my heart, the pulse of my blood and the music in my mind." this shows his true feeling twards dancing. " Each morning when I walk through the house on the way to make coffee, I turn on the music, hit the "shuffle" button and it's Dance Time!" this show is deication to dance and his willingness to show it.My favorite passage is "The first time I went tango dancing I was too intimidated to get out on the floor. I remembered another time I had stayed on the sidelines, when the dancing began after a village wedding on the Greek island of Crete. The fancy footwork confused me. "Don't make a fool of yourself," I thought. "Just watch." I like this passage because it reminds me of myself and how i feel.

1. The thing I am most anxious about at Edina High School is the new people I am going to meet. I am anxious to meet all the kids from south view that I have hear so much about. Iam also very anxious to see and the varsity basketball and footbal players walking around in the hallways and maybe i ll get to share a lunch pierod with them.
2.The main goal I have for myself is to stay focused all year long. Last at the start of quarters I would loose focus and my grades would start to drift. I would hae to scrable just to get my grades back up to a C or B. A couple of year ago I won a acidenic award for haveing a B average but ever since then my grades have sliped a little.I think if I work hard all year I can stay at a B average or higher.
